Fathers+Daughters Cellars is Guy Pacurar and his wife, Sarah, daughter of Kurt Shoeneman, owner of the vital Ferrington Vineyard – 70 acres on a south-facing hill above Boonville in the Anderson Valley AVA. They have two daughters and so the story and name goes. I must first mention one of my favorite Anderson Valley wines (a pinot noir) comes from this vineyard, put out by Cliff Lede under the Breggo label. Lede now uses his grandmother’s initials, FEL, for this brand, and they still strut Ferrington fruit. Suffice to say, wineries that source from this sunny slope earn continual praise from the likes of Parker, Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator. The vineyard – almost a half-century in the making – is a conduit for wind and fog and houses its own full-time labor crew.
